MURAMBINDA – Buhera Rural District Council (RDC) has approved the planned construction of a vocational training centre by a Murambinda businessman whose rural home is 3km away from the growth point.
The college which will offer carpentry, welding, vehicle maintenance, catering, poultry, cattle fattening and garment manufacturing will also have a school for Form 1 to 4. It is already approved by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
Lloyd Kaserera realised that his rural home will at some stage become part of the growth point when it expands. He also realised that there was a ready market for youth who can do vocational courses in the area and in any case Government is emphasising on courses that can lead to self-employment.
Kaserera who is popularly known as Commendable therefore, got the greenlight to turn the 6,4 hectare piece of land which is at Gamanya Village, Ward 14, Buhera West into a college.
Buhera RDC chairman Ngoni Musakaruka confirmed the development and told The Mirror that the local authority is in full support of the project.
The institution will be named Miracle Training College. The site is next to Murambinda 'C' Secondary School.
The construction of the classroom blocks will start soon after the ground breaking ceremony most likely this October or November
