ZVISHAVANE - Shabani FC gaffer Takesure Chiragwi has hinted on leaving one of the oldest football clubs in the country following a spate of poor results which have gone for several matches without collecting a single point.
Last Sunday after the ZPC Kariba match Takesure Chiragwi hinted on stepping down as the Chinda Boys coach.
"I have a reputation to protect, I have to consider my future also I have to ask myself if I am doing the right thing at Shabanie which is a big brand. If I'm not doing good for this brand the earlier I quit the better and move on so from now I am going to ponder  on my next move more seriously."
Chiragwi also blames the players for not converting the chances that they create citing the ZPC Kariba game which they narrowly lost by a solitary goal in front of their voiceforous supporters who getting frustrated and the attendances during home matches are going down on each outing.
A paltry 693 fans paid to watch the game against ZPC Kariba at Maglas stadium compared to the average 2000 plus fans that always rally the behind Chinda Boys.
The sudden decrease of supporters has worsened the club's financial status as it largely rely on gate takings for sustenance due to the unavailability of sponsors.
The club's media communication and liaison officer Weslie Weston lamented the continued dwindling of attendance figures at their home matches of late and confirmed that the Sunday match was the worst this season.
"Shabanie is running without a sponsor from Week 1 up to date so they rely mostly on what has been harnessed at the gates but on Sunday the team posted a loss of $780.15 which is not health for the team," he said.
Meanwhile, a sector of the fans have hinted on the return of Luke "Vahombe" Masomere to serve the club from going back to Division 1. sport news
