GWERU – There are allegations that Zanu PF councilor for Ward 11 in Chiwundura stole meat and cash donated towards independence celebrations and the party will soon hold a disciplinary hearing.
Zanu PF chairman for Ziyapapa District, Vincent Dube confirmed the matter and said the process to discipline Councillor Silence Furo is underway. Furo is accused of stealing meat and cash which was donated by Antelope Park towards the 2017 Independence celebrations.
Furo denied the allegations and said what he received from the said company was $50. Allegations are that Furo took the donated meat and put it to his own use and he used $31 out of the $50 to service his car.
"That's a lie which is emanating from people who want to compete for my position, I only got $50 from Antelope Park. I even gave the ward $100 from my own pocket. The issue was brought to my attention I do not deny that but it's a lie," said Furo.
