    Chikomba Residents and Ratepayers’ Association Chairman in court for stock theft

    CHIVHU – Chivhu general hospital employee Paul Muzira who is also the chairman of Chikomba Residents and Rate Payers Association appeared at the local magistrates court on Monday charged with stock theft.
    Muzira who is represented by Tafara Nsingo of Nsingo and partners pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Winfilda Tiyatara while two other accused, Carlington Shana (26) and Pasipanodya Mupfiganebwe (36) who are not legally represented pleaded guilty to the offence.
    Muzira was granted free bail and will appear in court on July 11. The court is checking on the other two for any previous criminal records.
    The other two suspects face two counts of stock theft and they are jointly charged with Muzira on the second.
    On the second count, the two accused and Muzira connived and took one dehorned brown cow, one brown heifer and one black brown steer and sold them to Magret Chihwiza of Kumboedza Village, chief Chirumhanzu and Evelyn Chekeche of Uzight Farm in Chivhu.
    The complainant positively identified the three beasts as his leading to the arrest of the accused persons.
