    Buhera wife killer denied bail


    BUHERA – A man from Buhera District who killed his wife for taking anti-retroviral drugs behind his back has been denied bail by the High Court.
    Titus Mabvuregudo (23) of Mavhura Village, Headman Mudinzwa under Chief Nyashanu who killed his wife Rejoice Balewa by crashing her head with a stone was remanded in custody to July 21, 2017. The High Court ruling in which he was denied bail was read out in court by Magistrate Denis Mangosi.
    The accused crashed his wife's head, Rejoice Balewa for taking anti-retroviral drugs behind his back.
    Mabvuregudo was arrested on January 10, 2017 and the incident is said to have happened after a heated argument between the two with the former also accusing his wife of infecting him with HIV.
    The argument was witnessed by Netsai Rungarara, the accused's mother.
    Mabvuregudo is said to have hid the body of the deceased in a shallow grave and it was discovered four days later when it was in an advanced state of decomposition.
    The accused pleaded guilty and the stone used in the murder was found at the scene together with the blood stains.
