CHIVHU - A Chivhu woman thief notorious for stealing wheelbarrows has been remanded in prison after she was arrested for unlawful entry.
Norah Madzivire (39) who comes from the famous Madzivire family of Gavajena Village under Chief Nyoka in Manyene was remanded in custody on Tuesday by Magistrate Henry Sande.
Madzivire was charged for contravening section 131 (1) of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9:23 "unlawful entry into premises".
Allegations are that on Sunday, at around 12 pm, Madzivire entered into the house of the complainant John Zhou who is a builder residing at Rooiport in Chivhu.
She stole 3×6 meters roofing timber through the window and hid it in a field close to the complainant's house. The complainant was alerted by a neighbour who saw the accused in the act.
Madzivire was intercepted on her way from the complainant's house and was found in possession of 200 grams skala body cream, one torch and one Acer phone which she had stolen from the complainant's house.
In June last year, Madzivire was held in lawful custody at ZRP Chivhu after her arrest on another theft case and she escaped one day at around 3am after pretending that she was going to relieve herself.
