MASVINGO – Masvingo Wheelchair Tennis Association is appealing for funding in order to be able to reach out to all the districts in the province setting up clubs as part of their mandate.
"Part of our mandate is to reach out to every district setting up clubs but because we have no money we can't do that and our appeal to wellwishers is to assist with funds and resources to enable us to do
that. We sometimes fail to practise due to limited resources like wheelchairs, tennis balls and we also need land to build our own courts," said Moses Chitombo chairperson of the association.
The association was formed in 2010 and is involved in grooming young players living with disabilities from a tender age. It also assists and protects the interests of the game of wheelchair throughout the province From 2010 to date they have won several medals and at one time they were the best paralympics team in the country.
