GWERU – Thulani Ndebele, an IT guru who is based in South Africa is coming back to Zimbabwe to run for the Shurugwi North seat under the banner of NPP in the 2018 General elections.
Ndebele who left the country in 2009 and set up IT businesses in South Africa says he chose to run under the banner of NPP because it was time for change.
He comes from a political family with some of the prominent members being the late Speaker of Parliament Cyril Gula Ndebele, the late Zapu Chairman Evans Ndebele and his late father former Shurugwi Magistrate Themba Gula Ndebele.
"It's time that we the young generation take part in the turning around of our country. I believe we can introduce a few new things that can have a domino effect on the country," said Ndebele.
He deplored the state of Shurugwi town and said he was ashamed to associate with it because of its rundown state. He also said the town has become a place of social ills, violence, murders and people fighting for money.
"If you come to Shurugwi you will find old buildings which were probably left by the whites meaning that we are not developing our own town. This is one of the major issues l will address when I am elected," said Ndebele.
He said come 2018, Shurugwi needs a candidate who is not only focused but who plans.
"I believe in planning for the betterment of the country and not for individual pockets. I have been in the forefront of organising donations to flood victims this year," said Ndebele
Ndebele became an entrepreneur at a tender age. He started a veterinary venture in 1997 where he would sell chemicals and at that time he was still in school.
He would deliver the chemicals to farmers until he opened an outlet along 4th Street in Gweru.
He got involved in several other business ventures like mining, property development, property renovations and valuation and is also the director of Zimsa technology an ICT company based in SA.
His company supplies ICT related equipment, designs applications, websites and does a lot of IT researches.
