MASVINGO – Medical services provider Premier Services Medical Investments (PSMI) conducted clean-up campaigns in 15 centres throughout the country as part of the organisation's social corporate responsibility.
The campaigns were all carried out in Masvingo, Bulawayo, Gwanda, Chiredzi, Chipinge, Harare, Gweru, Kwekwe, Kadoma, Bindura, Chinhoyi, Mutare, Ruusape, Marondera and Vic Falls last Saturday.
Speaking during the clean-up held in Masvingo by 50 employees, PSMI Director (Enterprise and Risk Management) David Mudyirwa said the company is coming out of a new strategic plan and the clean-up is the launch of a new culture which seeks to create a positive public image as well as build respectful relationships with customers and stakeholders.
He added that corporate social responsibility is part of PSMI`s new culture.
"It's a pleasure to be part of this event where we took it upon ourselves to ensure that the environment we operate in is clean. This is one way of giving back to the community. It is our duty to ensure that we create a healthy environment for the people.
"We are going through a culture change where we are in the process of redefining the personality of our organisation by guiding how we think and act on the job. Through our philanthropy arm TOUCH, we have made this day possible as it is a way for us to give back to the society which is loyal to PSMI brand" said Mudyirwa.
Mudyirwa said his company is already involved in social responsibility activities like providing mobile clinic services, sponsoring students in the healthcare field and funding of research in healthcare.
Masvingo Mayor Hubert Fidze thanked PSMI for holding the clean-up campaign which helps keep the oldest city clean.
