CHIREDZI – Several members of the Apostolic Faith Mission Church (AFM) in Chiredzi were seriously injured while the wife of one of the pastors lost her life in a road accident that happened along Ngundu – Tanganda Road as they came from a funeral in Harare.
Pastor Mathias Kanyimo's wife, Fatima Kanyimo died about 20km from Triangle when the Toyota Prado in which she was travelling veered off as the driver tried to avoid logs on the road last week on Sunday.
Pastor David Chitsvare who was driving the vehicle sustained a broken hand and Lowveld Province Overseer Vitalis Jinjika's wife suffered broken ribs.
Overseer Jinjika confirmed the accident and told The Mirror that all those who were injured are at Collin Saunders Hospital.
"The pastors were coming from the funeral of a fellow pastor`s wife in Harare when the unfortunate incident happened. Twenty kilometres before Triangle they saw logs on the road and the driver tried to avoid them, that's when he lost control of the vehicle leading to the unfortunate incident. The death of Kanyimo is a big loss to the church and we hope those injured will recover quickly," said Reverend Jinjika.
Kanyimo was buried at her rural home in Madamombe area of Chivi on Wednesday.
