MASVINGO - Banker Abson Zvobgo has replaced Linda Nyambiya as the new branch manager for FBC Masvingo with effect from March 1 this year.
Zvobgo was the branch manager for FBC Chinhoyi and Nyambiya was transferred to Gweru in the same capacity. Zvobgo has vast experience in the banking sector spanning over 23 years. He started his banking career with Stanbic Bank in 1994 in Harare and Mutare, in 1998 he joined the now defunct Time Bank as branch manager in Mutare until 2004 when it was closed.
He remained with the bank for two years while it was still under curatorship until 2006 when he joined his current employer in Harare.
He was appointed branch manager for Chinhoyi in 2010 until February this year when he was transferred to Masvingo.
Zvobgo was born in Shonganiso Village under Chief Murinye in Masvingo Rural and did his primary and secondary education at Nkululeko School in Gweru until 1988. He did his 'A' Level at Fletcher High School in Gweru from 1989 to 1990 and went to the University of Zimbabwe where he obtained a degree in Business Studies and Computer Science in 1993.
He has a passion for soccer and his wish is to see junior development blossoming in the country and throughout his school life he was the captain of the soccer team. Zvobgo is married to Silia and the couple is blessed with three children, a boy and two girls.
