ZVISHAVANE – Runde Rural District Council (RDC) has offered 20 hectares of land to the Zimbabwe School of Mines for the establishment of a college in the Musipani area about 18km out of Zvishavane along Ngundu-Chibi Road.
The development is courtesy of the initiatives by Government and the Mimosa Mining Company. Runde Chief Excecutive Officer Goden Moyo confirmed the development and said the school would support the training of small scale miners who are making substantial contribution to the economy of the country. The school will give small scale miners in mining skills and mining machines management.
He said this at in his office at Runde RDC.
"The move will be one of the major developments to mining in the Southern region and it will see the development of mining in the region as well as equipping the youths who are interested in mining with proper skills," said Moyo
He said some of the courses to be pursued include blasting and mining equipment maintenance. Traditional leaders welcomed the development.business news
