MASVINGO – Jah Prayzah took his Military Touch Movement to Masvingo and things did not go according to plan, For starters fewer than expected people turned up.
Caravan was the venue and judging from Jah Prayzah's previous high-profile events, anticipation was that Jah Prayzah was going to give his fans value for their money, but that was not the case at all.
The show was flat and lacked the glamour and bliss usually associated with the third generation band. The performance was horrible and above all he came to the stage around 2am cutting his performance to just an hour.
Even as Jah Prayzah left the stage there was a feeling of loss in the crowd, as if they had been short-changed, the air of dissatisfaction was real.
Again it could have been the promoter who did not do his job well, poor planning and staging of the show as it was staged a day before the much awaited "Kings of the two worlds show" were Alick Macheso and Mbare born Soul Jah Love were set to clash.
Whichever way, it is a lesson for local artists to be mindful of pitfalls that may ruin their reputation.
Perhaps this goes to show that the 'Mudhara Vachauya' hit maker still has a long way to go in terms of attracting large crowds as compared to his counterparts.
However that was not the case at Ritz Nite Spot as the 'Kings of two worlds', Sungura and Zimdancehall Macheso and Jah Love gave a scintillating performance on a night when he covered up for yesterday Jah Prayzah lukewarm display by giving Masvingo something to cheer on.
