    Chivhu behind Manyuchi despite defeat

CHIKOMBA – Residents  of  Chivhu,  boxer Charles Manyuchi's new hometown have vowed to continue supporting the World Boxing  Council  title  holder  despite  his  controversial loss to 34th ranked Uzbekistan boxer Qudratillo at the weekend.
Residents and supporters who spoke to The Mirror said in sport even the best athletes were bound  to  lose  some  games  and  the  same  applied to Manyuchi.
Manyuchi who is rated the World's number 6  in  the  World  Boxing  Council  was  floored twice inside two minutes and fifty-six minutes and the match was then stopped.

Weston Chinoingira, who is the chairman of "Nyuchi  dzegonera",  an  association  that  supports the boxer in Chivhu said the defeat will
    not change anything.
He said Manyuchi was putting Chivhu on the map and therefore residents will rally behind him."This is sport, anything can happen in sports
and it does not mean that this is the end. Manyuchi remains the best for us. I will say Go Charle, Go," said Chinoingira.
He said there were plans to throw a welcome-back party for the boxer.
Chikomba RDC Council chairman Pardon Mudzimu said Chikomba remains behind the boxer and described Manyuchi as a source of pride for Zimbabwe, the SADC and Africa.

He said there also was need for Manyuchi to get better training facilties."We are behind him, he is a pride for Africa and Zimbabwe and in particular Chikomba district and he must not lose heart, he has all
our  support.  Singapore  is  a  modern  world country which has advanced facilities which may have been one of the challenges he faced,
" said Mudzimu.Benjamin Gwelo, one of Manyuchi's supports said Manyuchi is a champion and will always be one.He said allegations of match fixing are baseless.
