MASVINGO - King of Dendera music Sulumani 'Captain' Chimbetu is set to perform in Masvingo this Saturday, where he is expected to thrill his legion of fans with the new 'controversial' album Jamboree for the first time since its release in December last year.
Sulumani better known as Captain by his fans, will lead his Ochestra Dendera Kings group to Masvingo's popular night spot, Ritz Nite Club in what is set to be one of the memorable shows.
Roy Gwese the general manager for the venue confirmed the development in a brief telephone interview with The Mirror.
"I can confirm Dendera fans are excited about the show since it will be the first time Sulu will be performing his new album in Masvingo and I urge fans to come in their numbers for a not to forget show," said Gwese.
The new album was well received by his fans across the country although lyrics in some of the tracks are regarded as controversial by some relating them to deterioration in state of the economy and the need for a 'Moses to rescue the nation'.
He also chided those fighting in the social media and calls upon self-exiled Chimurenga Guru Thomas 'Mukanya' Mapfumo to come back home and help the nation
Sulu, who came onto the music scene after the death of his father in 2005 to lead the Ochestra Dendera Kings.
He launched a full-fledged solo career with his debut album in 2007 called 'Ndomusiya Nani', and has never looked back producing hit after hit.entertainment news
