CHIKOMBA - The Ministry of Rural Development and Preservation of National Cultural Heritage is planning to send a high-powered delegation to Chikomba to look into the issues raised against the local authority by residents.
The critical issues concern Chikomba Residents and Rate Payers' Alliance's (CRRPA) objections to Chikomba Rural District Council's (RDC) proposed 2017 budget.
Asked for a comment, CRRPA chairman, Collen Zvarevashe said he had received communication from the Ministry to the effect that a committee was coming to investigate their grievance.
"We received information pertaining to the Ministry's visit recently but they did not tell us of the exact date when they will be coming," said Zvarevashe.
Efforts to get a comment from Minister Abednigo Ncube were fruitless.
Zvarevashe said amongst their grievances which they are expecting the Ministry tolook into are alleged poor service delivery by the local authority, local authority staff audit to expose nepotism, auditing of residential stands which the local authority is allegedly selling without servicing, sale of public land like the Liebenberg school land, the issue of land barons and alleged abuse of Zinara funds amongst many.
