MASVINGO - A mentally challenged man from Tizai Village under Headman Madyangove in Chivi has appeared at Masvingo High Court after he allegedly lifted a grinding stone and crashed the head of a minor who was sleeping to death.
Koroni Dhomba (36) crashed Florence Maribha's head once and she bled and died a few days later as she was being transferred from Masvingo to Pareirenyatwa Hospital in Harare.
Dhobha appeared before Masvingo High Court Judge, Justice Mawadze on Monday facing charges of murder.
It is the State case that on July 12, 2013 and at around midnight, the accused woke up from his hut and proceeded to a hut in which the deceased was sleeping alone. Inside the hut, the accused lifted a grinding stone weighing 25kg which was used to secure the door from inside and smashed it onto the deceased's head.

The two found Maribha lying unconscious in a pool of blood. Tizai had already escaped.
