CHIVHU – A whiz kid has notched 20 points from four subjects, setting a new record for Liebenberg High School that has not achieved that feat before.
Anold Makowe (19) got As' in Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics and Geography. He again was the school's best 'O' Level student with 9 As, 1 B and 1C.
Makowe who lost his father when he was in grade one is now appealing for sponsorship since his widowed mother is not working.
Makowe's mother, Grace Mukangi appealed to well-wishers to assist her son with school fees to go to University. She said she depends entirely on her small chicken project to send her two sons to school.
"I don't just wish to go and attain a degree at the University but will strive to get to the last level. I am appealing to well-wishers to sponsor me for my studies. He said his trick is hard work and he urged youth to work hard in order to realise their goals," said Makowe.
He also said that he derives his power in life from God the Almighty.
The school head Rodgers Ngara said the school is performing exceptionally well despite that it is a day school. He said last year, a commercial student James Hove scoped 15 points.
