    High Court acquits Gapare

     

    TAWANDA HOMBA

    MASVINGO – The former MDC T councillor for ward 8, Misheck Gapare who has since defected to Zanu PF has been acquitted by the High Court on two charges of fraud.
    Gapare who was sentenced to four years in jail on allegations that he defrauded Masvingo City Council of a total of 50 residential stands valued at $200 000 was acquitted by Justice Mawadze on appeal.
    Gapare who was represented by Alec Muchadehama briefly served his sentence before he was released following an application against both conviction and sentence.
    The State was represented by Emmanuel Mathose in the matter.
