ALMA MUKUNGUMA

CHIVI – Joel Dzingai (41) of Chivi Growth Point has been remanded in prison after he allegedly defrauded a man looking for a residential stand of $7 300.
Dzingai allegedly sold Alfred Gwenera (54) a stand at Chivi Growth Point that belonged to someone else for $2 000. He then went on to pretend to the buyer that he was a builder and offered his services to build a house at that same stand to footing level for $2 800.
In October the same year Dzingai allegedly solicited for $2 500 and said this was to take the house from footing to window level.
Although Gwenera (54) who resides in Mbizo Kwekwe was given receipts for his payments, he became suspicious when the seller became elusive after he asked for documents for the stand. Gwenera went to Chivi Rural District Council to verify and he was told that the Stand Number 920 which he bought actually belonged to another person by the name Davis Muchekeza.
Gwenera then reported the matter to the Police leading to Dzingai's arrest.
Dzingai was remanded in custody. Nothing was recovered from the alleged fraud.
