BEITBRIDGE - Every civil servant in Beitbridge is expected to pay a dollar in order to raise $10 000 for the hosting of President Mugabe's birthday in Mat South this month.
This was recommended at a meeting attended by the Acting District Administrator, Kilibone Ndou, Council chairperson, the District Development Fund office and other Quasi-Government entities.
Ndou confirmed the development and said it is a strategy that the town has always used before.
"We have most if not all civil servants contributing towards the 21st February Movement; some have the liberty of contributing more than the anticipated dollar.
"However, we are not only targeting civil servants this year, we will also send letters to every organization in the business sector within Beitbridge," said Ndou.
Clearing agents, civil servants, and many other business organizations are targeted to contribute towards the target of $10 000.
Kudzanai Chipanga, the Zanu PF youth chairperson said targets were set for every district.
"Every district and province has to meet a certain target so that they can cater for their people's transport and food," he said.
