CHIREDZI – Triangle FC has delayed pre-season training as the club is yet to appoint a substantive coach to replace David Mandigora whose contract was not renewed at the end of last season.
There were several coaches whom the team reportedly approached to replace Mandigora with club sources linking Rahman Gumbo, Takaendesa Jongwe, Taku Shariwa, Tenent Chilumba, Kelvin Kaindu, Luke Masomere and Jairos Tapera to the job.
However, the names of those shortlisted for the job remained a top secret and supporters are losing trust in the process due to the delays the club is making in appointing a coach who will start solid preparations for next season. They said the club will not be able to buy useful players as other clubs are busy on the market.
Club Chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze said the process to appoint a new coach is nearing completion and pre-season training will start soon despite delays. He refused to give a hint on the name of the coach the club will choose.
"We are yet to appoint a new coach but the process will be complete very soon and our preparations for the 2017 – 2018 season will start in ernest. It is a process I am not in a position to tell you the name of the new coach since we will make an official announcement soon after the process is complete" said Matikinyidze.
