MURAMBINDA – A landlord at Murambinda Growth Point has been dragged to court after he was caught wearing one of his tenants' pair of shorts.
Panashe Madondo who is at Harare Polytechnic was shocked to bump into his landlord at the shops who was wearing shots that looked like his. He rushed back to check on his shots and discovered that they were missing.
He told the court that he asked Muchemwa about the shorts and the accused agreed that it was not his and added that he had taken it from the washing line. However, the complainant said that the short was not on the line but in his monarch and had never washed his clothes since he came back from school.
He suspected that Muchemwa used spare keys to unlock his door and stole his clothes.
After Muchemwa was caught, he advised the boy not to tell his wife about the matter as he did not want her to know about it.
Muchemwa returned the short to the boy but failed to return other clothes and this led to his arrest. Muchemwa appeared before Magistrate Henry Sande facing two counts of theft.
Sande referred the case to Rusape Magistrates' Court as the accused complained that the trial was unfair.
