    Munengiwa is the new ZUCWU chairman

    GWERU – Zimbabwe Urban Councils Workers Union (ZUCWU) Gweru has elected it's new brunch executive and Kudakwashe Munengiwa is its the chairman.
    The elections were presided over by Edman Chatira, the ZUCWU national treasure at a plebiscite held last month at the City Council Theater.
    In an interview with The Mirror Munengiwa said that the new executive will work on consolidating progress of the union by making sure that Gweru City Council workers are united against and fight one cause.
    "We are going to consolidate progress of the union and make sure that Gweru City Council workers are united to fight for one cause; the interest of workers.
    We will also try and make sure that salary arrears are a thing of the past. So far workers have not been paid since October some since September and this should come to an end," said Munengiwa
    Munengiwa also said that the union will try to promote good industrial relations with the employer but it will not mean that they will promote peace where there is no peace.
    The other executive members are deputy Chairperson Antonia Sibanda, Secretary Ambrose Hwande, Treasure Livingstone Chimina, Trustee Sunday Sadhlana, organizing Chairperson Mutendeudzwa Cillas.
     Young Workers Committee Chairperson John Kuka and Polite Sibanda Secretary. On the Woman's wing Melphina Ngwaveni chairwoman and Chipo Moyo Secretary.
