CHIREDZI – Zaka Rural District Council have setup an independent board of inquiry to investigate the conduct of  Chief Executive Officer David Majaura after he was involved in an accident driving a council vehicle on his way to Kwekwe some months back.
Zaka Rural Disctrict Council Chairman Sebastian Musundire confirmed the development and said as council chairman he is the one who requested the board which is set to establish facts leading to the accident to see if the CEO breached any code of conduct. He said the findings will determine whether council will charge the CEO or not. He also said the board is made up of four independent people and is led by Chiredz District Administrator Clara Muzenda.
"Yes I can confirm that as Council Chairman I requested an independent board to investigate facts leading to the accident of our CEO whether he breached any code of conduct before the accident or after it. I will not pre-empt some of the facts as that will prejudice the job of the board. The board is chaired by Chiredzi DA and has three other people one from CMED, ZRP and a CEO from another council.
