    ZAKA –
Desmond Manyeruke (32), a teacher at Jichidza High School in Zaka, driving pupils from a divinity seminar at another school died on the spot when his car veered off the road and hit a tree on Saturday evening last week.
Several pupils travelling in the Mazda familia were seriously injured and three were transferred to Masvingo General Hospital while one remained at Ndanga Hospital.
Some parents were angry that the teacher had just bought the car and it was therefore not clear how much experience he had to be entrusted with the safety of pupils on the road.
The accident happened near Danda along Roy Chiredzi Road as the pupils were coming from the seminar held at Masvingo Day at 4.1 Brigade.
The Headmaster of Jichidza High Thompson Charambira confirmed the accident but declined to comment further.
Donald Manyeruke the brother of the deceased confirmed the incident and said the late was to be buried in Rushinga in Mt Darwin.
"My brother was involved in a road accident, he lost control of the car and hit a tree. It is something that is difficult to accept but that is the reality. We are going to bury him on Tuesday in Rushinga and the body is on its way now," said Manyeruke.
Manyeruke was an Agriculture graduate from the Midlands State University and he once worked for a cotton company Romsdal Investments before joining the teaching profession. local news
