CHIRUMANZU - Villagers in Rukweza and Highlands, Ward 11 Lynwood in Chirumanzu are up in arms against Chirumanzu Lands Committee after the later made moves to take part of their grazing land and parcel it out to Zanu PF youths.
Sources told The Mirror that the Lands Committee has identified an adjacent farm which the villagers use as their grazing area and now wants to subdivide it and parcel it out to Zanu PF youths.
The District Administrator for Chirumanzu, Clemence Muduma who is part of the District Lands Committee declined to comment on the matter when The Mirror contacted him.
Villagers who spoke to The Mirror on condition of anonymity said they were disturbed by the move because they were properly resettled and they have always been the custodians of that land which they used for grazing. They said that there will be no grazing for their cattle if that land is taken away from them. The Mirror was told that the situation is so tense that villagers have arranged themselves and deployed a group to fight anyone who comes to peg out the land.
The MP Zibagwe Auxilia Mnangagwa could not be reached for comment.LOCAL NEWS
