BUHERA - A man who resides at Mubvirwi Village in Buhera who was arrested on a different case has walked back into Buhera Police Station coincidentally wearing clothes that he had stolen from the same camp a few weeks earlier.
A Police officer based there was shocked to see an accused being brought in but wearing his (Police officer) clothes that were stolen after thieves gained entry into his house.
Silas Dube (25) stole property worth $476 from a police officer's place of residence at Buhera Police Camp.
The court heard that on September 30, this year Dube planned with Wonder Chawira who is still at large to go and break into Chiedza Mugobo's house.
The two first cut the fence surrounding the Police camp and approached Mugobo's house through the window.
They stole four pairs of shoes, clothes, three mobile cell phones and a brown wallet with a national identity and went away.
On October 6 2016, Dube went to Marenga Bussiness centre and sold one pair of the shoes he had stolen.
On October 10, Dube was then arrested upon commission of another theft case.
When he was brought to Buhera Police camp, Mugobo identified her stolen clothes which Dube was putting on.
On second count, at around 6pm, Dube entered  into Irene Makanyire's bedroom during her absence with the idea of stealing but he failed after Makanyire entered her room and scared Dube who then ran away leaving a mobile phone behind.
Dube was arrested at Marenga Business Centre when he came to collect his money.
Dube was sentenced to three years in prison and five months were suspended on condition he does not commit the same crime in five years.
In passing the sentence Magistrate Henry Sande said that Dube proved to be a daring criminal who stole for gain.
