    MWENEZI -
The Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement has given over 300 families in Mangondi area of Mwenezi district who were illegally settled by a named chief and a retired District Administrator a two week ultimatum to vacate the land.
Mwenezi district administrator, Rosemary Chingwe said she was on leave when contacted for comment.
In an interview with The Mirror, a group of affected members who declined to be named for security reasons said that they were told to vacate the place and get back to their original homes in Maranda and some parts of Mberengwa.
They also said that the Government has left them dumbfounded since they paid to get settled there.
"We were left dumbfounded, we were told to pack our bags and vacate the land we were given two years ago.
We paid livestock to get settled here and now they claim that the land is illegal, how are we going to get back our livestock", fumed the group.
It is believed that these people were resettled by the former retired District Admimistrator Stanely Chamisa with the blessing of Chief Chitanga. Each family is believed to have parted with two beasts to get resettled at the now said to be illegal land.local news
