    –  MDC-T, ZPF and other opposition political parties in alliance against the ruling Zanu PF have rescheduled their demonstrations for electoral reform to tomorrow (September 17 2016).
This follows a blanket ban on demonstrations by the Police for a period of two weeks. The demonstrations under the banner of National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA) will be held in the town of Chivhu.
MDC-T District Organising Secretary Edwin Maseva confirmed the event.
Maseva said the purpose for the peaceful demo is to press for reform of electoral laws and give a level playing ground for all political parties.
He also added that they want the Government to re-organize the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) by appointing new staff who are apolitical.
"The purpose of a peaceful demonstration is that we want the Government to reform electoral laws and enhance an even ground of participation for every political party," he said.local news
