    - David Kanda the district Agritex officer has bemoaned the poor attendance at this year's Mapanzure Ward 19 Agricultural Show which saw the number of exhibitors dropping from 100 percent in 2015 to only 50 percent this year.
The show was held at Mapanzure Secondary School.
"The show has been poorly attended as compared to last year due to the effects of the drought which ravaged the country," said Kanda.
Edith Chikwama, Agritex officer based at Mapanzure also reiterated that there a few farmers who attended the show because of the El Nino induced drought which affected harvest across the ward resulting in only a few farmers making it.
Kanda told farmers that next year there could be improved yields because of a project by Germany International Aids for Zimbabwe (GIZ) which has brought britkits (irrigating full kit) 30 irrigation equipment for farmers at an affordable price of $210 where farmers pay a deposit of $30 and the rest in instalments of over seven months.
Kanda applauded the donors for the assistance.
