    - A Triangle police officer Admire Magodhlo was last week fined $350 for making a false report that his car plus $21 960 had been stolen from his house.
He faked the theft together with a colleague.
Magodhlo appeared before Chiredzi Resident Magistrate Constance Mutandwa.
The State led by Doubt Phiri told the court that on May 26, 2016 Magodhlo instructed Phillip Kwangware to play a role in a fake robbery.
He told him that he would leave a door at his Rufaro house in Chiredzi open where Kwangware was going to enter, collect car keys and drive a Honda Stream ADX 8322 and leave it somewhere in the bush in Chingwizi where Magodhlo would facilitate its recovery and act as if $21960 was stolen from his house.
The deal went as planned but detectives investigating the case arrested Kwangware who narrated what happened leading to Magodhlo's arrest.
Magistrate Mutandwa convicted Magodhlo after the State proved the case beyond reasonable doubt. For driving without a licence he was ordered to pay a fine of $150 or 20 days in prison and for making a false report he was ordered to pay $200 or 30 days imprisonment.
He was given up to August 31, 2016 to complete payment of the fine.
