Suspended Zvishavane Town Sec goes to labour court

Zvishavane Town Secretary, Mutoda Mukutu who was suspended a few weeks ago to allow for investigations into various allegations of corruption has taken the council to the Labour Court.
He says that his suspension was unfair and illegal.
Zvishavane Town Council Chairman Essac Dube confirmed the development.
"Yes Mukutu has gone to the Labour Court to contest his suspension. He cites me as the respondent in his court papers," said Dube
Dube described Mukutu's action as an exercise in futility.
"This is not going to pull me down, we have seen that there is corruption in council and I am not going to be stopped until justice is done. As a council we are going to meet him wherever he takes his case.
"The only challenge I am faced with in Zvishavane is that the councilors are not united for one cause. In 2015 we made a resolution to suspend the Finance Director George Jongoni resolution number 78/2015. It is still not implemented because some councilors are now against the resolution.
"All councilors must unite in the interest of residents and the nation at large," said Dube.
He said that Minister Saviour Kasukuwere's promise to visit Zvishavane and see for himself some of the problems is long overdue. He said that the Minister must come before the situation gets worse.
"I personally gave the evidence to the Minister and we are anxiously waiting for his trip down here," said Dube
