Mpofu Guest Lodge to open in Mvuma

    MVUMA –
Two international athletes who are a couple have built a magnificent lodge in Mvuma that is bound to take standards way up and bring affluence to a small town where the well-to-do have previously found little for them.
Mpofu Lodge has changed the skyline of the CBD and its impact, just like that of Chicken Slice built in the same town a few years ago will be immense if well-marketed.
The official opening of Mpofu Guest Lodge is on July 25 2016 and expected at the function are Makhosini Hlongwane who is the Minister of Sports and Recreation and the Member of Parliament for Zibagwe Chirumanzu Constituency Auxillia Mnangagwa.
Construction of the lodge is complete and workers are putting final touches on the magnificent building.
Sharon Tawengwa, a Zimbabwean athlete and Luc Krotwaar, a Netherlands athlete who are husband and wife are the joint owners of the project. They are both based in the Netherlands.
Sharon is an athlete while Krotwaar is coaches cebrities and business people (Athletes) in Europe and he has been an athlete for 25 years.
He is not based in Zimbabwe although the wife is based in Zimbabwe.
Mpofu Lodge is located almost in the middle of Mvuma Town, just one kilometer away from Harare – Beitbridge Road and is opposite Mvuma Primary School. The lodge has become the biggest building complex in the CBD.
It is brick under tile and has two parallel wings accommodating the rooms. At the middle of the two wings is a magnificent conical shaped conference center. It brings majesty to the whole complex.
The lodge which accommodates 25 people has 10 rooms, five singles and five doubles.
Tavengwa said there are many other important guests from the country's leading corporates who are expected to grace the opening function.
Naturally one of the important guests is the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) president TendaiTagara.
Construction of the hospitality centre started in 2010 and the first wing was completed in 2013.
Tawengwa said the choice of the location of the lodge was because Mvuma is her home town and she felt she has to do something for the residents in Mvuma.
Mvuma is also the most central town in Zimbabwe as it is almost in the centre of the country.
She said that Mpofu Lodge will cater for both foreign and local tourists.
"We are not only targeting local people but also international tourists across the world," said Tavengwa.
There is also provision of free internet access, a conference room, a social room which include Jacuzzi and television.
The young couple also runs a bar and a restaurant in Mvuma town.
    Tavengwa was born in Chirumanzu
