    Gweru City Council worker in court for insulting President


    – A Gweru City Council health department employee has appeared in court facing allegations of insulting President Mugabe.
    He appeared before Magistrate Musaiona Shotgame.
    Magistrate Shotgame however, refused further remand for the accused on the basis that there was no evidence.
    He said the accused will be called to court by way of summons.
    It is the State case that on July 3 2016, Tendai Virimai (33) of Mkoba 14  and at Mkoba 6 shopping centre publicly, intentionally and unlawfully said indecent or obscene statements about or concerning the President.
    He is alleged to have said Mugabe must go, the war has already started in Beitbridge knowing that there was high risk and possibility of endangering feelings of hostility towards the President.
    He is also alleged to have confronted Sikhumbuzo Mpofu (39) and removed a Zimbabwean flag hanging from his car. Mpofu apprehended the accused and took him to the Police Station.
