MASVINGO
- Tucked away in Masvingo's plush suburb of Rhodene are imposing buildings which inside provides the epitome of kingly accommodation.
The rooms are spacious, the furnishings are modern and the comfort of the beds and linen is what one will get at an international hotel anywhere in the World.
Everything including the beds are covered in snow white sheets, an indication of the spotless cleanliness of the rooms.
This is Lee's Inn, one of Masvingo's best hotels.
The architecture both inside and outside the hotels reminds one of modern Nigeria where space is a must. Such space is linked with the Nigeria's kings hence the royal emperor feeling one gets on being a guest at Lees Inn
The architectural excellence at Lee's Inn was obviously done with the Nigerian royal palaces in mind as shown by the sheer size of the rooms and the three conference centres at the hotel.
The magnificent hotel sits on a 30 000 square meters piece of land and has 30 presidential suits which are as big as a netball field which are well furnished with state of the art television sets, refrigerators, a set of sofas which go with a dining table for a mini conference.
The dining room with a seating capacity of over 200 people is furnished with tables that have four chairs and are made of high quality teakwood with leather covers which are comfortably fitted with a royal touch.
The main building which houses two conference centres with a capacity of 360 people is a two storey building which also has the kitchen, reception and a spacious waiting room with a subscribed DStv satellite television.
As one walks in one of the rooms which are reminiscent of those seen in popular Nigerian movies where the royal family flaunts its riches and power through gigantic structures at the Igwe's palace.
There is no doubt that the hotel is one of the best in the country as it was built with an eye    for the upmarket and executives in mind.
Sleeping at this state of the art building is like dreaming while one is in Disneyland because it is almost difficult to want to leave the comfort that goes with the well ventilated rooms with one of the best bathrooms one can find.
The place is also ideal for holding corporate events like end of year parties and weddings as the open space is very ideal for such functions.
The pavements are done in such a way that even during the rain season there is no fear of mud splashing on vehicles and those going about their business as they are well done with paving stones.
Lee's Inn hotel which was established in 2010 has a total of 80 rooms with full entertainment, children friendly and non-smoking rooms.
There is non-stop water supply from a borehole and electricity is also 24hrs supported by a generator which is always on standby in case of power outages.
Although the economy is not performing well the level of occupancy at the gigantic structure is not bad as confirmed by the hotel manager, Stewart Chitengu.
"The average hotel occupancy level is at 50% and we are not complaining because sometimes we are fully booked especially during conferences," said Chitengu.
The hotel which took over two years to construct has a staff complement of 30 workers two of them being managers, Chitengu and Raphael Kopolo.
There are no security fears as the hotel is manned by well-trained security personnel 24 hours a day and there is enough parking space in the hotel yard for over 100 cars.
The hotel staff is trained in such a way that when they attend to a customer it is all royal treatment throughout one's stay such that one would quickly want to come back for another dance with the best in Masvingo in as far as hospitality is concerned.
