Bondolfi based artist releases maiden sungura album

Paul Magwizi (25) of Village 23 in Bondolfi has released his first six track album called Sungura Resurrection recently which he said is meant to revive the genre which he believes is being overshadowed by dancehall music.
Magwizi's supporting group Masvingo X-pulsion is composed of four members, his brother Emmanuel, Gibson Kumbuya, Durban Mutetwa and Mashudu Madhawu and has tracks 'Panyika Panorema', 'Mambo Herod', 'Vamakuna', 'Uswa Hwenyati', 'Akaenda Mhiri' and 'Rudo Wangu'.
The album was produced by NM Records of Johannesburg in South Africa.
Magwizi said he started singing in 2011 and he was inspired by yesteryear sungura greats like the late System Tazvida and Marshall Munhumumwe.
"I prefer sungura genre because nowadays sungura has taken a backseat and decided to revive it hence the decision to name the album Sungura Resurrection to try and bring it back to the limelight," said Magwizi.
He revealed to The Mirror that his fans should look forward to a video towards the end of the year and another project in 2017 as they are not looking back.
Magwizi said they sing for funny, but fortunately they are realising some monetary rewards from the venture.
