- Ziyad Khan was the toast of a two-day golf tournament when he clinched the 2016 OK Zimbabwe Southern Tours Invitational Tournament where his father Nawab Khan was also one of the best players coming up in the top 10 at number nine.
Ziyad came tops after playing a 16 handicap with a total net of 133 over the two days.
He sent the 51 golfers who were vying for honours cracking their ribs in his acceptance speech when he said said, "I have taught a few men how to play".
There was more laughter when the Mayor came up to congratulate him and someone from among the golfers shouted; "give him a stand".
Webster Muriritirwa the defending champion did not play.
There was a record 51 players who participated in the tournament and Khan for his efforts received a floating trophy, a microwave, rice cooker and some household electrical goods.
"I would like to thank everyone for the support and the sponsors for the prestigious tournament. Last year I did not take part but with God's grace I played this year and taught a few men how to play the gentlemen's game. I hope to defend the title next year", said Khan after being handed over the trophy.
The runner-up was Professor Jonathan Matenga who played a net of 136 and received a chafing dish and several electrical appliances.
To complete the top ten winners was Tendai Gwatiringa net 147 on tenth position, Nawab A Khan 146 net ninth position, Marks Malunda with a net of 146 was number eight, with a net of 145 Obrey Cummings was on position seven, while Francis Tamburayi was on sixth position with a net of 144.
C. Chikwari was the second runner-up with a net of 137 followed closely by Gwainda on fourth position with 137 as well. Ok  Zimbabwe chief executive officer Willard Zireva completed the top five with a net of 141. All those in the top ten walked away with different types of prizes from the sponsor.   
Godfrey Gwainda won the Best Gross over the two day tournament where he grossed 79 on Day 1 and 80 on the second day, gross refers to a player's raw total of strokes for the round, including any penalty strokes. He received an LED television set prize.
Other people who graced the occasion was Masvingo mayor Cllr Hubert Fidze, Nyaradzo Group chief executive officer, Phillip Mataranyika, DM&H Harare based law firm senior partner Edwin Manikai, OK Zimbabwe chief operating officer, Albert Katsande and finance director Alex Siyavora, business executive Herbert Nkala, Masvingo Brick and Tiles owner Clever Mumbengegwi, Chester Mhende and Speciss Chief Executive Officer, Wilson Seremani. 

The vice-captain of the golf club, Nick Manjoro paid tribute to OK Zimbabwe which was represented at the highest level by its chief executive officer.
"On behalf of the golf club executive I would like to thank the sponsors for the annual tournament. I would like to inform the house that we have put in place a business plan to ensure that the golf club does not die and we intend to make it a very competitive club," said Manjoro.
