Former Bondolfi boarding mistress refuses to vacate house

    – A Bondolfi Primary School boarding mistress whose contract was terminated on the basis of a three-month notice granted by a Supreme Court ruling last year, has refused to vacate a school house she is staying in demanding to be paid $9 000 she claims she is owed by the institute.
She says the $9 000 is for pension benefits.
Simuta Zigonde (54) who was employed by the church-run school since 1986 told the court that she was going to leave the house after receiving the $9 000.
Zigonde's contract was terminated on three-months notice following a Supreme Court ruling of July 17, 2015 and she was given her package as per provision of the amendment to Labour  Amendment  Act Number 5 of 2015 Sect 12C of Cap 28:01 which compels employees to compensate terminated workers.
The case is at the Civil court and is before Magistrate Victor Mahamadi who gave her up to May 3, 2015 to submit her reasons in a letter as to why she was refusing to leave the house. local news
