    Notorious boyfriend leaves MSU student for dead

    – A notorious Zvishavane car dealer who accused his girlfriend, a student at the Midlands State University of being unfaithful to him has appeared at the local magistrates' court after he severely assaulted the lover and left her for dead.
    Eubernia Nhliziyo (26) who is doing Development studies at MSU was admitted at  Zvishavane  Hospital for three days after the assault.
    Courage Kudakwashe Mushunje (24) also assaulted and fractured Taita Chidindi's hand with an iron bar after Taita and his twin brother Tafadzwa who are students at MSU tried to restrain Mushunje from inflicting further injuries on the girlfriend.
    It is understood that Mushunje has two previous convictions of assault committed in 2013 and 2014 and the Zvishavane community is following the case with immense interest. A commercial sex worker is said to have lost  three teeth in one of the assaults.
    The Mirror could not establish the sentences given Mushunje in the previous cases.
    It is the State case that Mushunje visited his girlfriend's lodging at number 2 Koobla Advarolen in  Zvishavane. He then assaulted her severely after accusing her of having other relationships. It is understood that he lifted her up and crashed her on the ground several times and left her unconscious.
    Twin brothers Taita and Takudzwa Chidindi who were awakened by the noise intervened but were also assaulted by Mushunje who hit them with fists and then used an iron bar to assault Taita as he lay on the ground.
    After assaulting the two, Mushunje drove off and went to report to the Police that he had been assaulted by the twins. The Police came to find  Nhliziyo unconscious and one of the twins with a broken hand.
    They took the two to hospital where statements were then changed and Mushunje became the accused while the twins became the complainants.
    did not make a report against her boyfriend to the Police.
    Mushunje initially appeared in court with no legal representative but later brought in Tinamate Midzi of H Tafa and Associates.  Midzi asked for the postponement of the case to April 6, 2016.local news
