    - Musa Ntonga, the first woman chairperson of a premiership club team who is at the helm of Whawha Football Club has complained to the Minister of Sports and Recreation against the involvement of just two zones in the Bob @ 92 Cup.
Ntonga told Minister Makhosini Hlongwane during a stakeholders meeting held at Gweru Polytechnic College that she had read from a report in The Herald that only two teams each from the Northern Region and Southern Region will be selected for knockout competitions in the Bob @ 92 Cup Competitions.
She said this was marginalizing teams in other regions and she described the decision as a form of discrimination which was unfair.
"Giving reference to a Thursday sport article in the Herald that states Bob @92 Cup will curtain raise the 2016 soccer season; the article states that the cup involves four teams from the northern region and four from the southern region which are set to kick off on March 5.
"Then my argument is, these are not the only regions in the country.
"Why didn't we have maybe two teams from every region than to be that exclusive?
"This is the type of discrimination, marginalization that should not be nurtured in this country," said Ntonga.
"First I would like to thank you honorable minister for gracing this meeting and I hope and believe that you will work tirelessly to bring justice to issues regarding marginalization of other communities in sport.
Hlongwane promised to look into the matter.
Ntonga is bidding to land the position of Central Soccer league chairperson.
The elections are set for March 6 and the other candidates are the former League boss Patrick Hokonya and a longtime administrator Stanely Chapeta.
"Women leaders have a different approach to leadership and I am going for this post because I believe that I will be able to contribute a lot for the development of soccer," said Ntonga.
She says she would once again want to attract mining companies back to supporting football.news
