Zvishavane – Zvishavane Remand Prison has a new Officer in charge following the promotion of Superintended Netsai Nhlavanu to Masvingo province to open new provincial offices.
Freeman Manasa who was previously working at Karoi Prison will be the new officer in charge of Zvishavane Remand Prison with effect from this month.
Zimbabwe Prisons Service spokesperson Ruzive Jere has confirmed the change and said that Prisons always have annual movements of officers but this move has been prompted by the separation of Masvingo out of Midlands province to stand as an independent province.
"Manasa will be the new officer in charge of Zvishavane as Nhlavanu moves to Masvingo Province which has been officially made an independent province," said Jere
"Masvingo province has been administered by Midlands Province, it was merged as one province but it's now splitting and Masvingo will have its own administration.
Nhlavanu will be holding the position of Chief Administration and Personnel Officer responsible of all administration of the Province," said Jere.
Nhlavanu will be responsible of administration of Mutimurefu one of the biggest prisons in the country, Chiredzi Prisons and Masvingo remand Prisons.
Jere also said that he could not disclose more information about the new officer in charge of Zvishavane as he was out of office.
"I cannot give you more information about the two officers, how many years they have served or where they once worked because l am on off and all those details l can only find them in my office," said Jere. news
