    Gutu
    – The head at Gono Primary School in Chief Makore's area in Gutu had the shock of his life when a cobra appeared from the ceiling of his office and hissed threateningly as he went in to collect some papers.
Alfreda Gava Mawere said he had gone to the office at around 8am and opened the door to collect papers when he heard a hissing sound.
The incident happened soon after schools closed for the December holidays.
He then called villagers near the school to help him kill the snake.
Mawere said there was nothing superstitious about the snake as snakes can find their place anywhere. He said he was a member of the Reformed Church of Zimbabwe and he did not have any suspicions of witchcraft over the appearance of the snake in his office.
"I don't suspect anyone in connection with the snake. I don't know where it came from or how it entered my office, but what I know is that a snake always finds a way," said Mawere.
Gono area is known for dangerous snakes and in 2014 a man was killed in the same area by a 2.3 m long Black Mamba But for those who believe in superstition, the appearance of a baby crocodile near the school fence a few days later cause consternation.
The little crocodile was captured and handed over to the National Parks.news
