Masvingo - Eastern Region Division One title contenders Masvingo United FC also known as Una Una have parted ways with their coach after four and half matches in charge for inconsistent results.
Interim coach Lazarus Magaya who took over from Ezekiel Mutoda who left Una Una under unclear circumstances a month ago was promptly relieved of his duties at half time by the club manager Phillip Shumba sources who attended the match said.
The game against Surrey ended 2-2 at Mucheke stadium and it is believed the team was experiencing a long spell of draws hence the sacking.
It is understood that Shumba confronted Magaya when the team was headed for the tunnel at half time as they were trailing 1 nil and told him that his services were no longer required with immediate effect.
Masvingo needed a straight win for them to close in on log leaders Hartley academy who grabbed a vital 2 nil win against Flying Eagles.
However, Shumba denied the rumors out rightly when contacted comment.
"You can go ahead and write what you hear from those sources but as for myself I have no knowledge of the reported incident or that the coach was fired," said Shumba.
Efforts to get comments from Magaya were fruitless as his mobile phone remained unreachable by the time of printing.sport
